I have come to truly love and appreciate the Malaysian spiritual family that God has given me here at Eaglepoint. I started attending Eaglepoint in June 2007 after being invited by Steven Kizito. A few weeks later I attended Victory Weekend. It amazed me that in such a short time, I, who had serious issues with trusting others would open up my life, hurts and past mistakes to the ministers that I had only just met. But when the Holy Spirit leads you don’t ask questions, you just got to follow. That’s when I knew I had found a new spiritual family, I was here to stay, I belonged. That describes one of the things I’ve learnt since I came to Eaglepoint - to be sensitive to the voice of God and obey even when I don’t want to or when it is hardest for me. More than anything else during my stay at Eaglepoint, I will remember how much I value the times I was serving. I first served as a projectionist with 1a.m. and then as a core member in the Desaria life group. Later I was both assistant Life Group leader and became a LG leader. I can honestly say that serving has been the single most important thing that has brought me closer to the heart of God. I’ve also asked myself, “Why am I here?” Being at Eaglepoint has helped me see a clearer answer. I have been able to discover more of who I truly am, what I like, what I don’t like, even what I can’t stand. I found self worth here as I learned to accept change in my life and be blessed and led by other. Also, I have been able to bless and lead others and I am so grateful that I was given the opportunity. I am thankful for ENLI particularly the Leadership 1 Class with Ps. Tim and the Change Your World Camp, which has shown me the importance of pinpointing my calling and helped me rediscover dreams I had forgotten. I have been so motivated and energized here that I intend to continue working with young people. I am now sure that’s the direction God is leading me to. As I say goodbye to Eaglepoint I want to stress these: 1. Firstly, to the international students: I know firsthand it is not easy to adjust and find a fit in a country and church with people who differ so obviously from you, but being a Christian is not about finding a perfect fit or being ‘comfortable’ but it is about stepping out of the boat and walking towards Jesus even though you are in unfamiliar waters, it is so important for us to still serve and do God’s will, regardless of where we are. – Proverbs 3:5-6 2. To the locals: I am thankful for the conscious efforts taken to embrace the many races and cultures that come your way. Do continue to do so because we really do need it.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to my family at Eaglepoint. You have helped me live a life that brings glory, honor, fame and praise to God, ‘I praise God because of you’.
